How to save with your Credit Card

A credit card is a very handy piece of plastic, but it is also very dangerous if you do not use it responsibly. If you do not manage your finances, you could soon end up in more debt and pay high interest on this debt.

Fortunately, most credit cards allow you 55 days interest free credit. This makes it possible to pay with your credit card during the month, and the transfer the amount due at the end of the month.

Just some tips to keep you saving:

* Use your credit card for day to day expenses. You credit card transaction fees are generally lower than your cheque account or debit card fees.
* Be sure to pay the full amount outstanding at the end of the month. Do not leave this till next month. This debt would now cost you interest. This bring me to the next tip
* For large purchases, use your budget plan. Your budget plan could generally be used for purchases of R200 or more. Choose the shortest number of months that you can afford.

By simply making use of the above tips, you will ensure that you do not overspend and that you will pay the minimum amount of interest and banking fees.
